My visit to Renkoji temple where Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's ashes are kept

My visit to Renkoji temple where Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's ashes are kept

I visited Renkoji temple in Suginami ku of Tokyo in May 2009. I had read about this temple in books, have seen in it mentioned in debates surrounding Netaji's sudden disappearance and death. So I was curios to visit this place. When I talked regarding this temple with my friends in Japan, I was surprised to know that very few of them were aware of it.

One Sunday morning I decided to go there. I searched train networks. From Gyotoku where I was staying it was 1.5 hour journey with couple of interchanges in between. I got down at Higashi Koenji station on Marunochi line of Tokyo metro. The walk to Renkoji temple is a short 5-10 mins walk from the station. On the way to temple there was a nice garden with a small pond and few turtles. The area looked residential with very few people on the streets.

The road leading leading to the temple is rather small one. The temple is like any other old styled Shinto Shrine. Near the entrance there is a half statue of Netaji. Only 3 prime ministers till date have visited the Renkoji temple till date. First one was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, then Indira Gandhi and then Mr. AtalBihari Vajpayee. When I was in Japan Dr. ManMohan Singh visited Japan but he did not visit this place. I suspect because of the uncertainty and controversy related to Netaji's death and final days no Indian politicians visit the place.

The temple is a quite place. There is a board where Pandit. Jawaherlal Nehru's and Atalbihari Vajpayee's messages are scripted. Netaji's ashes are kept in a vessel. Every year on 18th August a ceremony is held in remembrance of Netaji. I checked with the care taker lady at the temple, but she denied me entry inside the area where the ashes are kept. I had to be satisfied to take photographs from outside.

Whether Renkoji temple has the really the ashes of Netaji or not is question in minds of many Indians. But I firmly believe that those ashes are of Netaji only. Japanese people are very loyal, respectful to people who helped them. Definitely Netaji was a war hero for them. There is no reason for this small temple to have anyone else's ashes.

Even if someone has any doubt  regarding Renkoji temple but no one can deny that Netaji was a legendary freedom fighter who traveled multiple continents for his struggle, took on greatest leader of time to follow his ideology.

My one plus 3

My one Plus 3:

This is a Geeks review of One Plus 3 mobile.

Before using One plus 3 I was using Samsung I8262. This one was a very lightweight but performance wise too slow and could not keep pace with time.

I switched to One plus 3 from October 2016 and I have become a fan of it. Before that I was not spending much time on my smart(?) phone. But after I purchased One plus 3 I am spending almost 3-4 hours more on my mobile.

What is good about it?
1. Excellent design and very responsive touch
2. 6 GB RAM which makes it impossible for any app to make it slow.
3. 60 GB storage space -- no need to delete photos or whatsapp videos frequently.
4. Factory fitted toughened glass
5. To change settings is super easy. Its very easy to launch battery, wifi, Airplane mode.
6. Few nice gestures like double tap back button to unlock phone, draw O to launch camera. This makes the mobile very easy to use.
7. DUAL Sim : A must have in India.
8.Frequent OS updates. One plus pushes frequent OS updates which keep the phone updated.

What was not so good ?
For every thing there will be something which will not be so good. My frontal camera stopped focusing correctly on closer objects suddenly after an OS upgrade. I was not able to take photos of objects which were within 20-50 cm distance. This proved a little disadvantage as I was not able to take photos of notice boards, screens etc. All the photos were blurred and text was not readable.

I googled a lot , searched one plus blogs but could not find any resolution. I called one plus support and they advised me to clean some cache during reboot which did not work. Finally I formatted the mobile to factory version but it also failed.

Then I contacted regional support center. The rear camera was damaged physically and they had to replace it. Replacement happened within 2 days and camera started working fine again.

As the phone was under warranty I did not had to pay anything. It is necessary to show Amazon invoice for the repairs.

This wonderful phone is available exclusively on Amazon

Word of Caution : All repairs after warranty period are very expensive. The camera repair above would have required more than 10000 Rs including taxes. Please make sure you keep your invoice safe or have access to Amazon easily to download it.

How to transfer PPF account from Post office to SBI or any other bank

How to transfer your PPF account from Post office to State Bank of India or any other Bank

PPF is safe bet compared to many other forms of investment. It gives you a good return of 8.4 % compound interest. Many people open a PPF account in nearest post office when they start their job or start earning. Most of the time the decision is taken in hurry. Soon they realize that depositing money in PPF in post office is nightmare. You have to stand in big queues where most of the people pensioner who take longer times. Post office staff is not efficient in handling computers and individual transaction takes longer time. Also post office times are not convenient. Most of the post offices open early at 8:30 in morning but are closed by 3 pm. The only option left is to go on Saturdays when they are open upto 12 noon. This all inconvenience can be avoided by opening the PPF account in State Bank of India or any other bank which is authorized by Govt. Of India or by transferring the PPF account from post office to one of the banks. With banks you can deposit money online also view the statement time to time.

Steps for Transfer
1. Go to the post office and fill up the form for transfer. You need to mention the bank name, branch and detail address of the bank in this form.
2. Handover your passbook to post office
3. Local post office will send your form and passbook to Head post office or district post office of your area.
4. The account closure happens in Head post office. They will generate a DD and send the DD with your account information to bank branch which you have mentioned in the form
5. Once the bank receives the transfer form with DD, they will call you. You might need to give PAN card, AADHAR Card photocopies in case you are not already a customer of the bank.
6. The bank will open a new PPF account in which the amount mentioned in DD will be added.
7. Once your account is opened you can get online facilities enabled and deposit money or view the statement online. Please note through online facility you can only view the PPF account balance and statement of transaction. You can not withdraw the money.

Risks :
1. This whole process is manual, so tracking transfer is near impossible
2. It is very difficult to track the form. After the account is closed by head office, in your local office you can see the entry of account closed. But post office or bank branch may misplace your form which happened in my case. I had to visit post office and SBI branch multiple times but the account is not yet transferred.
3. Post office staff has more awareness about this transfer process than SBI staff. SBI staff will deny that they have received any notification or mailer with form. General tendency is to avoid work.
